BOARD OF DIRECTORS

A 14-member board of directors guides the work of the Association of Professional Chaplains, providing oversight of the work of all councils and commissions, as well as the financial and operations aspects of the association. The board is made up of 14 officers; the chair of each council and commission, Finance Committee and Cabinet of Liaisons; two at-large members; and the executive director who serves as an ex-officio member. The members of our board of directors bring challenging and diverse perspectives to the work of the association, and contribute significant time and attention to new and creative ways we can fulfill our mission and vision.

Five members of the board of directors make up the Executive Committee, which is empowered to act in the place of the board on matters that are referred to it by the board or that need to be attended to between board meetings. In practice, virtually all matters of substance are now dealt with by the full board through conference calls or e-mail votes. The Executive Committee includes the president, president-elect, secretary, treasurer and one board member chosen by members of the board.The executive director also serves as an ex-officio member without vote.
