Pastoral Care Program Coordinator
This position is responsible for the development and coordination of Pastoral Care Services for patients, families and staff at Phoenix Children`s Hospital, as well as maintaining current policies and standards for the department.

1.Manages the daily operations of the Pastoral Care Program by monitoring quality and effectiveness of work flow, processes, and problem resolution to ensure optimum efficiency and compliance with Standards of Practice and regulatory and licensing requirements. ◦ Provides Leadership, prompt problem resolution, and communicates plan of action to staff and volunteers in a timely manner.
◦ Develops and supervises on call, prn, and volunteer chaplains through provision of timely feedback and use of appropriate Human Resource policies and tools to facilitate and ensure the ability of staff to achieve highest level of professional growth and desired performance standards.
◦ Interviews, hires, trains and schedules staff, students, and volunteers.
◦ Collaborates with volunteer services for augmentation to program.
◦ Maintains hospital chapel; provides spiritual guides/literature.

2.Program development and implementation that impact the overall spiritual needs of patients and families. ◦ Researches and develops new and innovative pastoral care programs that are measurable, outcome-driven, and evidence-based.
◦ Leads hospital-wide annual Memorial Service.
◦ Leads hospital -wide blessing of the hands.
◦ Collaborates with Child Life Zone Production for on air spiritual programs.

3.Quality Management and Compliance ◦ Designs, implements, and monitors Quality Improvement initiatives including designing new processes, collecting, measuring, and disseminating data.
◦ Complies with all applicable standards and regulations.

4.Provides care that supports diversity, through understanding of various religious beliefs and practices. ◦ Assesses the religious/spiritual needs of families.
◦ Provides quality spiritual services.
◦ Establishes rapport quickly and effectively with patients/families in order to meet specific individualized spiritual needs.
◦ Maintains positive working relationships with families, employees, and community representatives.
◦ Coordinates and provides religious services for hospital families.

5.Documentation ◦ Documents pertinent information concisely and thoroughly; within hospital standards.
◦ Provides reports and data as requested.

6.Maintains professional competency through regular participation in a variety of educational programs, in-services, and seminars, to ensure ongoing awareness and understanding of most current trends, methods, and issues related to spiritual interventions. ◦ Provides education and support to families/staff on spiritual/ethical issues.

7.Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.

Requirements Education:
-Four units Clinical Pastoral Education (REQUIRED)
-Bachelor`s Degree in Religion, Biblical & Theological Studies, or related course of study (REQUIRED)

Experience:
-Five years minimum as a hospital chaplain (REQUIRED)
-3 years Pediatric hospital or health care experience (REQUIRED)

Certifications:
-Current licensed and ordained Minister, Priest, or Rabbi, or equivalent certification and licensing by an association of professional chaplains (REQUIRED)
-APC or HCMA Certification (REQUIRED)
