Come home to where it all began. Home of APC. Home is where we get our roots, where we go to reconnect, reflect and be nourished.

Just beyond the horizon, beyond the pastoral grasslands, is a city that reaches to the sky, a city that dares to stretch beyond its boundaries.

Never forgetting from whence we came, let us take the challenge to reach new heights. Let us never settle for mediocrity, but continue to raise the bar for our profession.

Let us “co-mission” ourselves to:

Who Should Attend?

Attendees from a broad spectrum of settings and professions will learn about the
impact of spiritual care – chaplains, bereavement coordinators, physicians, nurses,
social workers, educators, parish ministers and others. APC invites anyone interested
in expanding their knowledge of chaplaincy care and the spiritual needs of patients,
clients, families and staff.

Going Green

APC is making an effort to respect the environment and has taken steps to make this conference “eco-friendly”:

  • In an effort to save trees, APC will post the workshop outlines and handouts online. Before the conference, registered participants will be given a Web site link to these materials. View each of the documents and save them to your own computer to print out at your convenience.
  • To reduce paper waste, APC encourages online registration. Speedy e-mail confirmation of workshop selections and registration receipts are an extra bonus of online registration. Register online to receive an eco-friendly gift at the conference.
  • Registration and at-conference journals to be printed using recycled paper and soy ink.
  • APC’s conference hotel, Renaissance Schaumburg, is eco-friendly. It was built to preserve and protect the surrounding wetlands. Low-flow faucets, shower heads and toilets reduce water use, and bottled water trash is minimized by providing water stations in the conference area.

Chaplains Invited to Apply for 2010 Conference Scholarship

Are you a newly board certified chaplain, provisional chaplain or associate chaplain who would like to be recognized at the 2010 meeting in Schaumburg, but you can't figure out where the money will come from to help you get there? Would you be interested in a scholarship of $150 toward your Early Bird Registration? If so, please complete an application, and be sure it is received in the APC office by January 1, 2010.

If it has been more than three years since you've attended an annual conference and you have little or no funding to help you come to a conference, you may also be eligible for a scholarship. Please fill out the application, and at least give yourself the opportunity to be considered for a scholarship. While first choice is given to those receiving their certificates, sometimes circumstances change and we end up with additional scholarships available to APC members. We would love to be able to give the 30 scholarships we have available, so complete your application, and fax or e-mail it to the APC office by January 1, 2010.
