APC Expands Professional Advocacy with Legislative Tracker

APC Forum, February 2019, Vol. 21 No. 1

APC continuously works to meet our members needs and our latest development was based off the feedback we received from the 2017 APC Membership Satisfaction Survey.  Many of the responses to the survey indicated that our members and Certified Chaplains are looking for resources to help them advocate for the profession of chaplaincy and those in their care.  While previously APC had many of these resources available, it became clear from the survey responses that many of these resources needed updating and, in some instances, new resources needed to be brought online.

In order to better meet our members wishes for additional advocacy tools, APC has launched our Advocacy Information and Resources pages under the “Resources” tab on the APC Website.  These advocacy tools include quick links to resources for Professional Advocacy and resources for employers and administrators for developing and improving spiritual care departments and The Impact of Professional Spiritual Care.

In addition, APC has now launched our Members Only – APC Legislative Tracking service.  This service is dedicated to keeping members informed on potential legislation that could impact their profession.  This tool is a grassroots based method to keep our members updated on what legislation has been introduced and its status in the legislative process as well as how members can connect with their legislators. APC does not lobby on behalf of any legislation and we do not spend money to influence legislative action. This new feature is informational in nature and we are excited to help keep our members better informed on what is important to them.
