APC Forum, December 2018, Vol. 20 No. 8

The following are important updates regarding BCCI and Certification:

  • The Fall application deadline for certification closed on November 13, 2018.  The BCCI Certification Department received 119 applications for certification.  These applications are now being reviewed by the office to ensure all materials have been submitted and are accurate before scheduling the next set of certification interview meetings.
  • If you are able and interested to serve on a Certification Committee in Orlando, FL on June 18 and/or June 19, please Volunteer! BCCI does NOT reimburse travel for interviews at conference. BCCI will reimburse hotel and meals per the information found on the online volunteer form HERE.  These certification committees take place immediately before the opening of the 2019 APC Annual Conference and 48 candidates will need volunteers.  Those that pass their certification interviews are invited to walk in a procession that honors the newly certified during the APC Annual Banquet, Saturday June 22, 2019.
  • Date Change – the Palliative Care Action Reflection Workshop dates have been changed.  The previously planned dates are NO LONGER accurate.  The new dates for the Palliative Care Action Reflection 2-day Workshop are Friday, April 5 and Saturday April 6, 2019 in Milwaukee, WI. Please contact the APC office if you have questions.
  • Faith Group Reviewers needed!  APC/BCCI are looking for more chaplains to review applications from potential Religious Endorsing Bodies.  These reviewers will review submitted materials and ensure that all requirements are met prior to APC adding them as a recognized faith group.  Chaplains certified though the BCCI are required to be endorsed by a recognized faith group as part of their certification.  Those interested in serving as a reviewer should contact
