A Thanksgiving Acrostic: Why I am Grateful for APC

by Rabbi Jodie Futornick, DBe, MA, BCC

APC Forum, November 2018, Vol. 20 No. 7

Togetherness: Collegiality is key to our success. No one understands a chaplain like a chaplain colleague.

Honesty: We possess no hidden agenda. WYSIWYG – What you see is what you get!

Appreciation: We assume positive intent from the people we serve and our colleagues. We model humility and gratitude.

Niceness: We treat each other with dignity and respect.

Knowledge: Through continuing education, we strengthen our professional practice.

Service. There are numerous opportunities to give back to the organization that supports our work.

Greatness: We aspire to be the best we can be, in all that we do.

Integrity: We live by a rigorous code of professional ethics. As professional chaplains, we live by the principles of outreach, inclusivity and care for all.

Variety: We are ever expanding the diversity of our organization to include new perspectives.

Innovation: Through research and teaching, we provide new learning opportunities and ideas.

Nurturing:  As colleagues, we support and sustain each other.

Growing the Profession: As an organization, APC is committed to mentoring new colleagues and continuing to grow our ranks.
A blessed Thanksgiving season to all!
