Call for Best Practices: State Representatives and C.E. Chairs

November 1, 2019 will begin a new fiscal year for APC as well as a new leadership year for the association.  In addition to the new APC Board of Directors taking their offices, APC will also see a new class of state and local leaders that contribute much to the organization.  From feedback collected at the 2019 APC Conference in Orlando and contacts in the APC Office, we would like to compile some best practices for our new and seasoned State Representatives and Continuing Education Chairs. 

To accomplish this, we are asking our current and former State Representatives and C.E. Chairs to share their experience and solutions to issues that arise in these positions. 

Examples could be:

  • Fundraising for a local/state event
  • Connecting with other chaplain groups in the area
  • Assisting certified chaplains in fulfilling their maintenance of certification requirements
  • Putting together a five-year peer review committee
  • Organizing a meeting or social event
  • And others…

In addition to these topics, we are also gauging interest from state leaders for a quarterly update call.  These calls would be a new support program for local leaders.  We are looking for those that would commit to participating on the calls as well as topics you would like to hear more about from APC Leaders and staff.

Endeavors like these can take time but be very rewarding.  Please send us your feedback at your earliest convenience so that we can work to add value to the experience of serving as a state leader.
